The best accents when decorating your home are those that can be used in multiple ways. I am constantly reusing pieces in different ways or rooms. Here are some of my favorites that I wanted to share with you:
CAKE STAND: I bought a white Better Homes and Garden cake stand from Walmart in a pinch. It was already a versatile piece as it could be used as a cake stand and chips/dip serving dish. We had just redone our kitchen and I was so excited I had to add accent pieces immediately. The stand turned out to be a great accent piece! In our kitchen, it is used as our “coffee station”. Our coffee pot, coffee syrup, tin of coffee, and a seasonal accent sits on it. It provides height so that not every small appliance is sitting at the same level on our countertops.

CHICKEN FEEDER OR TROUGH: After purchasing one of these, it wasn’t long at all before I had used it in a few different ways. It started off as a centerpiece for our dining room table. I added some candles and lamb’s ear around it and I loved it. Soon after that, we hosted a neighborhood movie and s’mores night. It was a hot summer night so a quick change of plans was needed. Instead of having an outdoor fire to add to the heat, we brought the s’mores inside. I bought small decor rocks to put in the feeder and placed ___ on top of the rocks. It allowed for neighbors to roast their marshmallows and looked cute at the same time! Currently it is being used as an accent on our sofa table with fall decor.

WOODEN CRATE: Can you have too many crates in your home? I think not! A particular crate from our home comes to mind. I have used it for bathroom storage, toy storage, and turned it upside down to add height and be used as a “stage” for seasonal decor on our floating shelves.
